A small, intimate bar with black sand floor and designer lighting, the Wine bar of the Conrad Maldives combines the excitement of matching 101 of the world’s best cheeses with complementary wine chosen by its famous sommelier. An extensive tasting menu of cheeses, wines and bread is The Wine Bar’s main attraction, and selected nights are dedicated to ‘cheese fondue’ or to a special ‘wine versus chocolate’ challenge. Even the short walk to this restaurant is a magical treat, experience the sun and the view of azure waters while walking for about a minute on the boardwalk. At the end of the bridge feast your eyes on this tastefully decorated restaurant, the food is just amazing. The adventurous types would go for authentic hot Thai food which is perfect for a sunny breezy day! This Thai restaurant cannot be more authentic because even the staff is Thai!

Situated between the restaurant and the garden lies the gourmet wine cellar of the Soneva Gili. Instantly visible and easily adorable with soft undulating wood singled roofline. Enter the doorway made of copper seeting and decoraded carved wood then be amazed by the softly lit glass staircase that descends beneath the ground level of the spa to the cavernous cellar. Lined with a softly dappled satiny smooth stucco plaster finish and recessed free-form wine racks on display with more than 300 labels of the finest. Running almost the entire length of the cellar is a six meter driftwood tree trunk that is slotted with holes perfect for accommodating eight individual glass table tops and personal wine glass shelves.
The cellar is designed to seat just eight wine gourmands. From here the cellar will host a degustation dinners that consist of seven delightful courses each paired with its own wine. Courses and wines vary at each and every visit at the cellar, you just don’t know what to expect! Dinner starts at about 8pm and lingers on for two hours or more just like the gourmands would.
Wine tasting is schedules from 6pm and usually includes several wines. They are designed to introduce guests to vintages and old and new worlds. Tasting is accompanied with cheese and charcuterie from the cellar vaults. A gourmands dream at the Soneva Gili.
